Assignment 1: Personal Self-Care Plan

Background Information:
In relation to the work you are doing in Trauma-Informed Practice a trauma-informed educational framework recognizes that there is a possibility that the content discussed during this course may cause distress. The purpose of this assignment is to ensure you have a plan in place to address any distress you may experience, to know where your resources and supports are, and to explain how and when you would approach your instructor for support, if needed.
Directions:
As part of your skill development in monitoring and evaluating your own experiences, and mitigating the impact of regular exposure to trauma, please complete the Personal Self-Care Plan by answering the following questions:
1. What will you do if you begin to feel distress during a reading, discussion or assignment? If you are around people, what will you do? If you take a break, what will you do during the break to reduce your distress? Thoroughly address with examples.
