We are working on the concept of popular culture. Let’s get started by exploring the notion of what is popular today –
1. What is popular right now in movies, magazines, blogs, videos, and music? Focus on a few key concepts you can identify in a specific popular movie, for example. Feel free to post a link to a video clip to illustrate your points.
2. What makes a movie, magazine, blog, video, or music popular?
3. Who decides what is and is not popular?
4. Why do people differ in their perceptions of what is popular?
5. How does popular culture influence you in your everyday life?
