Welcome to the first week of the operations and technology module. As you will see the management of operations and the impact of technology are two issues that determine how we live our lives and how we conduct our business. In this module, we will cover several issues associated with the management of these areas. We will start with an introduction to the role of and operations management more broadly. We will start by exploring what operations is and developing a working definition that we will use throughout the module. A key element of this process is to convince you that we are all managing a process one way or another and we are all operations managers.
