Your task: Find a LIVING artist. This person can work in paint, sculpture, clay, metal, printmaking, etc. Find a website or online video about your living artist. Include the link to the website or video in your essay. Learn as much as you can about the artist. Summarize your findings in a 300-400-word essay. Be sure to include the name of the artist, where they live and work, what type of education or training they had, and what type of work they create. You can also mention where their work is on display. Finally, mention why you chose that artist and what stands out to you about their work. Your essay will be turned in via Blackboard. Your essay will be screened for plagiarism. If your work has been plagiarized, you will earn a zero for this assignment. Be prepared to share your information with the class. You will be expected to share what you learned and at least one image or short video clip representing the artist’s work. This should take 3-5 minutes. This assignment is worth 100 points. Your grade will be based on the following:

1. Did you find a living artist? 5 points

2. Did you describe their work? 10 points

3. Did you include background information about your artist such as where they live, what type of work, where their art is on display, etc.? 20 points

4. Did you provide your personal opinion about the artwork? 20 points

5. Did you provide a link to the artist’s website in your paper? 5 points

6. Is your essay 300-400 words in length? 5 points

7. Did you proofread carefully and make sure to correct any proofreading and/or grammatical errors? 15 points
