Discuss specific economic facts and data from credible Internet sources.

The national debt has been debated extensively in recent years. Candidates for public office often advocate eliminating the national debt. Sure–eliminating debt is a good thing! Isn’t it?

Investigate what would happen if the debt were eliminated or if it were continued. How might economic growth be affected? How might the increased borrowing in response to the coronavirus crisis affect the budget and ultimately economic growth in the short-run and in the long-run?

Be sure to discuss specific economic facts and data from credible Internet sources.
Follow all of the guidelines stated in the Online Discussions section on the course syllabus. This includes referencing the textbook and at least one other appropriate source. Be sure to cite your source(s), including the textbook, in the body of your discussion answer and include the source(s) at the end of the essay in MLA or APA style format.

The DQ essay answer should be three to four paragraphs in length, with 4 to 5 meaningful sentences in each paragraph that directly answers the DQ.

a. Each DQ answer must reference the textbook and you must research at least one source in addition to the textbook. Discuss specific market data/statistics, cite your research source(s), including the textbook, and include the source(s) at the end of the essay in MLA style format.

b. Use only credible sources of information, such as the course textbook and course videos, professional journals (our PCC library online carries several great resources) or from Internet sites with .gov or .edu suffixes. Wikipedia or someone’s blog is NOT considered to be a credible source.

c. Your posts should thoroughly and directly answer the DQ as well as refer to specific information and data discussed in the textbook, instructor podcasts, videos or other researched credible sources.

d. Essays with a similarity score of greater than 10% will not be accepted. You may rewrite and resubmit your essay to the Assignments folder if your first submission has a similarity score higher than 10%. You may do so up until the due date and time
