What elements of your own positionality (the parts of your identity that shape how you exist in the world – your race, class, gender, sexuality, ability status, etc.) will you have to keep in mind, question, and/or critique as you teach emergent bilinguals? What are some ways you can “check in” with yourself in order to think about your pre-existing beliefs about emergent bilinguals/teaching emergent bilinguals? Which of the three “tips” from the video do you want to bring into your own future teaching and advocacy work? What are your ideas for bringing that tip into practice?
