Part One – Report (Marking Criteria 1)
Write a report proposing a commissioning project or a practice innovation. Use an appropriate report writing format in the template provided (available on Blackboard site).
Guidance for the report 750 words (plus/minus 10%)
Promote your idea (focussed and to the point)
Use the report to present the case for your proposal, it will be short and succinct and it is necessary to use the template provided. The aim of the report is focus on how to promote your idea, setting out your intentions and the rationale for your chosen project/practice innovation. Using the report format will enable you to develop your report writing skills which are useful and applicable in many areas of nursing.
Part Two – Assignment
The assignment is an evaluation and critical review of your chosen project for commissioning or practice innovation. This assignment should follow a standard format:

You should include the following elements in your assignment
Context, background and justification (Marking Criteria 2)
This section will provide context and rationale for your chosen project. Consider wider population needs and partnership working where appropriate.
Explore the background and context for your proposal, with reference to the literature and where appropriate include the political, social, economic and cultural influences for your project. It is important to consider local, national and international perspectives, where applicable. You could include examples of similar projects which have been identified as successful in the literature.
What is the approach and why has it been selected against other possible options. (Marking Criteria 3)
Critically discuss a range of alternative strategies and interventions in relation to your chosen project, (these may already exist) identify and evaluate the benefits of your chosen project for commissioning/practice innovation. Examine the strengths and weaknesses of your proposal including limitations.
Benefits, risks and ethical issues (Marking Criteria 4)
Critically consider the benefits and risks and include relevant discussion of ethical issues which may be significant in your proposal. Ensure theory is linked to practice in this discussion and analysis to demonstrate the evidence base for your proposed service. Include the relevance to individuals, families and communities in this section
Presentation of work (Marking Criteria 5)
A range of appropriate public health literature is used throughout the assignment to support the proposal and the discussion. An appropriate standard of academic writing, presentation and referencing is achieved throughout the assignment
