TUTORIAL ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
The tutorials are practical exercises in applying data mining fundamentals. They are mostly designed as step-by-step outlines of how to apply a specific data mining tool (e.g., Statistica) to real-world problem sets.
Goal
The goal of each tutorial is to give you hands-on experience applying data mining principles and sophisticated statistical algorithms within a software environment. The completion of each tutorial will further strengthen your understanding of how statistical data mining software offers capabilities to address real-world problems.
INSTRUCTIONS
Requirements
You must complete the assigned tutorial. Completion includes:
• Having performed the steps outlined in the tutorial (Instructions for each tutorial can be found in the center section of the textbook. Note: Some tutorials have specific step-by-step instructions while others only provide high-level guidance, leaving you to complete the individual steps.); and
• Write a 150+ word response summarizing the types of analysis completed and how they may be used in your data mining project.
Please screenshots of the final three steps of the tutorial in a MS Word document along with your summary, and submit it to the appropriate dropbox.
