In your final writing assignment of the semester, you will be asked to analyze the behavior of a fictional character at the center of a particular psychological thriller. Characters may be selected from the list at the bottom of this page.
Your assignment should be approached as follows:
You have been asked to participate in a presentation on criminal behavior before the national media. The brightest forensic behavioral analysts in the country have been assembled to discuss the “why” behind criminal behavior in an effort to reform the criminal justice system. Several national law enforcement agencies will also be present, looking for the best new recruits. You are asked to provide the following regarding your assigned case:

What crimes did this individual commit and why?

Include theory and any relevant traits and/or diagnoses listed by the DSM-5

How can law enforcement better identify similar individuals before they commit similar crimes?

Consider the balance of individual privacy rights and community safety

Identify specific behaviors or “red flags”

If individuals with similar behavioral etiology are identified before major crimes are committed, what should be done to keep both the individual and the community safe?

Incarceration may or may not be chosen but ALL proposals must be supported by research.

Your final paper should be a 5-8 pages of content not including title and reference pages.
You will be graded according to the rubric attached to the assignment in Canvas. Consider your writing a representation of your professional capabilities to be presented to those who know the topic the best. Make a name for yourself!
Assume your character is real and the only information you have is that which is presented in the film.
