Write a 500 word essay about one or more crucible events in your life and how these have affected you. Since you are college students, it is possible that you have not had the extremely challenging experiences written about in the article. Do not let that bother you. You have still had significant events in your life that have made you into the person that you are today. Your essay may include your core values, how you got to where you are now, how you describe yourself, your future plans or goals, etc.
Discuss your experience in terms of the four essential skills discussed in the article: the ability to engage others in shared meaning, a distinctive and compelling voice, a sense of integrity, and adaptive capacity to transcend adversity by grasping context and hardiness.
