Earth and Space Exploration Question

Write a research paper about retractable gear aircraft systems focusing on a
review of at least two gear up landing accidents/incidents, one each of a pilot failing to extend the gear and a mechanical issue that precluded gear extension. The paper should address the various lessons learned from previous such incidents, and address what measures (procedural,technological, etc.) should be adopted to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
The style required for formatting the paper is American Psychological Association (APA), 7th edition, guidelines. The paper will be graded on accuracy and completeness of information, cohesiveness, spelling and grammar, and number and quality of references. The paper should be
a minimum of 2 pages of content (typewritten, double-spaced, one inch margins, and no larger
than 12 point font). A minimum of 2 references (one corresponding to each incident),
appropriately cited in the text and appropriately listed on a reference page, should be used. In
addition to the 2 pages of content, a title page and a reference list are also required. The
Turnitin originality detection functionality in D2L will be utilized, and papers with greater than
25% “match” will not be graded (will receive a zero). Students are encouraged to submit early so
the originality score can be checked prior to the due date. Papers must be submitted to the class
D2L Dropbox no later than 9:00 pm on Sunday, 4/2. No paper will be accepted late.
