Requirements
Each student is to deliver a presentation or demonstration on a topic of their choice, so long as it is appropriate to the learning environment, i.e. Knife sharpening, napkin folding, cooking a dish, making an origami, tie tying etc. It is best if you select something that you are comfortable with, interested in and excited/passionate about presenting to your peers. Remember this is a great opportunity to have FUN presenting while still being professional!

The BOPPPS Presentation – each individual will be responsible to develop, plan and present a 8-10 (maximum) minute demonstration to your classmates. The BOPPPS method of presenting is an effective way to organize and execute your chosen topic. What is the meaning of BOPPPS? Bridge, Objective, Pre-Test, Presentation, Post-Test & Summary

Bridge: The opening Segway into your chosen topic. This can be an introductory conversation with your audience, music, visual etc. Something to build interest in what you are about to talk about.

Objective: This is where you tell the audience what you intend on discussing, including and most importantly what the audience will take away from the presentation. Make sure that you have your objective visible throughout the presentation i.e. on a screen, chalk board, papers stuck to the wall etc. It must be visible because at times audience members can get distracted and having it written out will allow them to return to the presentation at hand.

Pre-Test: Poll the audience to gauge their previous knowledge of your topic. This allows you to make minor adjustments in the moment and ppint out audience members that you can look to be active participants (if wanted/required)

Presentation: Present your topic making sure to meet all of the objectives outlines above

Post-Test: Do an informal quiz or poll of the audience to ensure they are taking away the knowledge you intended to convey.

Summary: Wrap up with a presentation relevant closing and a thank you.
This presentation evaluation is divided into two parts: The Outline and The Presentation itself.

PART I: Outline
An outline is a tool to briefly show the plan of the presentation. An outline helps you keep your presentation both audience-centred and within the allotted time.

To Submit:
Learners must each submit an outline for their upcoming presentation. It is best if the outline is in a bullet format rather than essay. The outline is to include:
– The topic of the presentation / demonstration (2 pts)
– Each of the elements of BOPPPS (what will you say or do to bridge into your topic? (12 pts) What is the objective of your presentation and how will you communicate this to your audience? What will your pre-test be? How will you conduct your presentation? What will your post-test be? How will you summarize your presentation; what are the main points you want your audience to remember the most?)
– For each element above, give an approximate time frame… how long will each part take you? (2 pts)
– What materials will you need to do your presentation/demonstration? Consider too whether you are recording it or doing it live on Teams… if recording, you will need a camera and perhaps someone to record. (2 pts)
– What do you think you will do really well during this presentation? What are your strengths? (2 pts)
– What do you think you may struggle with? How could you overcome these weaknesses? (2 pts)

Please upload your outline to the Brightspace assignment drop box on or before the due date indicated. Upon receiving your feedback on this assignment, make necessary adjustments prior to your presentation.

PART II: Presentation / Demonstration
Each individual will be responsible to present a 8-10 (maximum) minute presentation / demonstration to your classmates based on the outline above.
