Computer Info Science
As you consider potential topics, use the following questions as a guide:
What interests you about your degree field (Computer Info Science), current job (IT/Information Assurance Navy), or future job?
What is going on in your field, current job, or future job right now that is interesting, introversial, or particularly important?
What topics affect you personally or influence the way you do your job now or in the future?
For example, let’s assume that you’re majoring in Environmental Science, and you work in an office that doesn’t have a recycling program. So, to you, this is problematic. Your broad topic might be creating a workplace recycling program.
Once you establish a broad topic, you begin the narrowing process, which we’ll do in Module 2.
For this week, write two to three paragraphs addressing the following prompts:
State your chosen degree field, your current job, or your future job (depending on your area of focus for the assignment).
Discuss the topic about which you want to write.
Discuss the process you followed to choose your topic and how the topic applies to your degree field, your current job, or your future job.
Identify your preliminary research question.
Your assignment should be 250 to 300 words in length and written in clear, complete sentences and well-organized paragraphs. While references are not required for this assignment, you may include them if it makes sense to do so.
Your paper should be submitted as a single document (.doc, .docx, .pdf., or .rtf file) and adhere to the following guidelines:
Include a title page with your name, the paper title, and the course name.
It should be double-spaced, in an appropriate font, with a font size between 10 and 12 point.
The margins should not exceed 1″ on all sides.
