She is listed as an “I” (Intermediate Fluency) for English and has been at your school since kindergarten. You spoke to the teacher she is transferring from, and she shared with you that the problems appears to be Juanita’s ability to decode. This is causing issues not only with reading fluency and comprehension, but also with writing as well.
In a 500-750 word reflection, explain what assessments you would use to determine her reading level. Once the reading level is determined, what are your next steps? What accommodations, resources, and technology can be utilized to assist this student? Identify and rationalize your choices to include an explanation as to why you chose the tier group and the accommodations.
