topic: Choose A or B.
A) Environmental Justice.
1) Explain what it means, and
2) discuss a situation where environmental justice is relevant. (In other words, provide a case study where environmental justice applies.) The case study can be one discussed in class, or another of your choosing.
B) Global Warming. 1
) Summarize the state of scientific understanding about global warming (i.e. what it is, what causes it, projected impacts), and
2) discuss a specific impact of global warming (like sea-level rise, or another), including how to mitigate it and adapt to its impacts.
Specifications: Short papers should be approximately 5 pages of text double-spaced, with standard margins, in something like Times New Roman 12 point font. Length does not include any images or cover page. Your paper should use at least 2 sources from course readings and/or films, and you may cite additional quality sources that you deem relevant. Citation style should be ASA author-date format, which uses in-text citations as you write and includes a full reference list at the end of your paper. (Please see posted citation resources in the Citation folder under Course Documents.) Complete writing expectations and grading criteria can be found in the Paper Grading Rubric, also located in this folder. Write in your own words, providing citations for all information you obtain from other sources (i.e., not just quotes). Minimal use of quotes is okay, but the few quotes you use should be in “” and cited appropriately (including page number) as outlined in the ASA resources provided.
