  • Choose a current US policy passed by either congress, senate or Maryland based legislature from 2009-2019 that relates directly to an issue for women’s rights or gender issues.
  • Summarize the policy in your own words.
  • Discuss the validity of the policy in supporting the needs of women, girls, and gender non-conforming folks. Look at each clause and access does it support the economic, social, educational, health, and/or general advancement of the aforementioned groups.
  • Choose one reading from the semester that supports the content of the policy by expressing how it justifies the need for a policy.

  • Choose one periodical (newspaper article) from a reputable, peer reviewed newspaper source such as the Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, and New York Times. The article should directly relate to one of the topics discussed in our class and our syllabus. Article must be from 2009-present.

  • What makes this article a feminist or womanist piece?
  • Conclusion- If you were using this article to lead a discussion in our class, what are three key questions that you would use based on the data from the article.
