The research paper is to assess and analyze how one’s cultural identity affected/influenced American renaissance literature- and their authors. Cultural identities include sexuality, gender, religion, ethnicity, social class and/or geographical regions. Authors to focus on are Edgar Allen Poe, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Emily Dickinson, Fredrick Douglas, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and John Greenleaf Whittier.
