General Music Classroom Assignment

Choose a music classroom assignment or activity you might offer your students – private lesson, term paper, project, presentation, and so forth.

Design a rubric detailing the elements you wish to evaluate – content, grammar, punctuation, practice time, language requirement, for example. Also, assign point values according to the execution level of each element.

Use sound and fair-minded ways to evaluate student performance. The rubric must include the following:
• Indicate the weight and importance of each criteria element by the number of total points possible assigned to it – Tone (50 total), Pitch (25 total), and Rhythm (25 total), for example
• Provide thorough and clearly written expectations for each rating box
• List point totals required for letter grades of A, B, C, and so forth
