You will be required to prepare a power-point presentation. The topic is Substance Abuse in the Nursing Profession. You must utilize at least 2 peer reviewed nursing journal articles. You may also use textbooks as references.

1. Identify warning signs of the nurse experiencing substance abuse.
2. Identify risk factors (Examine the nursing specialties and factors that are associated with higher rates of substance abuse than others.)
3. Discuss how to report substance abuse in the work place.
4. Discuss the consequences that present for impaired nurse after substance abuse is
reported.
5. Discuss suggestions of ways to handle substance abuse in the nursing profession.
