Option A. Write an essay that critiques the impact of the modes of rebellion exercised by Colin Kaepernick, Shepard Fairey and/or Timothy McVeigh (or figures like them) on American society. Question:
Which mode of rebellion is a more powerful, lasting means of social change – and why: a non-violent peaceful protest during an NFL game; a vividly arresting mural painted on the side of a building, or an ammonium nitrate bomb detonated in front of a federal building?
Option B. Explore what it means to be a true “renegade” or revolutionary. Question: It could be said that breaking away from established modes of thought is a lot harder than what people commonly realize. But why?
