This is where you tell your story. What hooked you to this topic?
BODY PARAGRAPH 1: Define the issue and Identify its root causes.
This is where you will introduce your reader to the definition of the issue and your explanation of exactly what the problem is. This is also where you should explain to your reader what the root cause(s) of this issue are.
BODY PARAGRAPH 2: Prove the issue you’ve researched is truly a problem that negatively impacts the world. This is where you will include the research and evidence that proves the issue you’ve chosen to learn about actually IS a problem in our world. (Remember TBEAR for this portion of the writing!). This section may be a good spot for you to use the IMPACT of the issue as proof that it IS indeed a problem. Share with us who is most impacted by this issue (how and why).
BODY PARAPGRAPH 3: Explain what is already being done to address this issue
This is where you explain to the reader what is already being done in the world to address this issue. Consider including more than one effort to better support your argument.
CONCLUSION PARAGRAPH: Consider what more needs to be done to impact this issue, and perhaps what a teenager living in Sacramento might do to impact this issue.
This is where you can include a “call to action,” or a “So What?”
