A 2000 words case report based on one of the athlete’s interviewed (interviews provided on module).
Written case study:
• – Introduction: Using previous research describe the demands of the particular sport
(with particular focus on psychological demands). Introduce the topic of mental skills and their effect on athletic performance. In the introduction you should define the scope of your work (what is the objective of this case study?).
• – Case Description: Describe the individual interviewed (age, sport experience and any other relevant information).
- – Data collection: Describe what type of interview was used? What was the location and duration of the interview? And the methodology used for the performance profile. Was this done before, middle or end of the interview?
- – Data Analysis: How did you analyse the data? What methodology did you use?
- – Results: Present the results of your thematic analysis of the interview and the performance profile results.
What skill(s) you have decided to explore further. The results of the interview (thematic analysis), performance profile and questionnaire should help you justify your choice. - – Intervention: Based on your results what questionnaire you would recommend to use (discuss the validity and reliability of the questionnaire using relevant validation papers).
- – Supported by relevant literature, define your plan using short/mid and long term goals for your athlete.
- – Conclusion/Reflection: What did you gain from this experience? How useful was it? What did you learn? How will you be able to apply it in your future profession?
