You work for a national museums council that is yet to develop a standards scheme.
You have been asked to critically review current schemes, as exist elsewhere, to
provide a basis for the development (or not) of a scheme in your country. Explain,
for your colleagues, the function of standards schemes for collections care and
management. Identify what they do for the work of museums, particularly in
relation to the challenges faced by those with collections related roles in museums.
1. Evaluate one scheme, compare and contrast a number of schemes, or focus on
one aspect of a particular scheme.
2. Evaluate the potential contribution of such schemes in assisting the museum
or museum sector tackle collections-related challenges today.
3. You must include a bibliography and reference academic research throughout
the report.
