Write a 6 to 7 page analysis of the case with the following sections (12 point font, double spaced):
Section 1: Situation Identification (Abstract and Introduction):
What are the key issues/problems in this case? What are the underlying issues (these underlying issues are the Human Resource (HR) principles that apply to this situation).
Section 2: Key Facts/Supporting Information:
Discuss the facts that affect the problems and issues. The case may have too much information. In your discussion, you should filter the information and list those facts that are pertinent to the issues identified above.
Section 3: Recommendation(s):
Discuss your tentative solution to the problem and how you would implement your solution (think of yourself as a HR consultant hired by the company in the case and write as if you were presenting your solution to management).
What actions would you propose to correct the situation, based on the knowledge you have gained in this course? Support your analysis and recommendations by citing references from the text and from other sources (such as other texts, college-level business publications, your own research, etc.).
Be sure to properly cite your sources.
Other points to keep in mind:
A case study is a description of a real business situation.
The case study(s) chosen was/were selected because it/they illustrate critical concepts covered in the course.
Analyzing case studies gives you the opportunity to apply those concepts to real business problems. Make sure you perform an analysis (avoid merely describing).
Cases are generally written for several types of analysis. Therefore there is usually not a “right” or “wrong” answer. Rather, cases provide a vehicle for you to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply course concepts.
You must use appropriate sources (properly cited) to support your position.
Check your analysis by assessing how well it demonstrates your HR knowledge.
Include a Title page with the name of the assignment (M1A1 Case Analysis: Contingent Workforce Planning at Motorola, Inc.), your name, Date, and your contact information. Additionally, please include page numbers.
