Action Learning
Creating the right conditions for action learning is the key task of the
set adviser as accoucheur and initiator. This includes asking such ques-
tions as:
• How will this organization or system welcome action learning
activities?
• Will it be supported by top management?
• How will people be made aware, invited and recruited?
• How will problems or challenges be chosen?
• Will participants have clients, sponsors or mentors?
• Will there be any supporting activities to run alongside the action
learning sets, such as visits, meetings or seminars with external
people?
• Is there any plan to follow up and take advantage of any
momentum created by the action learning sets?
• How will any learning be shared in the wider organization or system
