QUESTION 4 (2 marks):
Compare the molecular structures of sialic acid and oseltamivir carboxylate (OC)
bound to neuraminidase. You will notice many structural similarities, particularly with regards to the noncovalent interactions these molecules can participate in. What is the region on the OC molecule you believe will have the greatest difference in terms of its binding ability to neuraminidase compared to sialic acid, and why? Locate this part of the molecule on the 3D display. Enter selection mode and select three amino acid residues which surround this region. Take a screenshot showing these three residues (they will appear green when selected) and include it with your submission.
