Write a proposal document which explains the background and motivation
for ‘The Viability of Nuclear Energy in Ireland‘-(this is the task), and how you propose that it should be implemented and validated. The following is
a list of topics which it is suggested that you should address in your document:
• Background and motivation, including examples illustrating the problem that the shared task seeks to
evaluation.
• Specific research question or questions relating to the problem focus of the task that your
evaluation framework is designed to address.
• Review of relevant existing literature in which the problem is addressed and how it has been evaluated
by researchers to date, e.g. what specific task(s), frameworks(s), metric(s) and datasets(s) have been
used.
• Summary of proposed evaluation framework.
• Details of the metric or metrics that you plan to use to measure the effectiveness of each proposed
method submitted to address the task.
• Dataset that you propose to use, including ideas of where it might come from or how it might be
created. Include details of your considerations in relation to your benchmark task in choosing or
designing this dataset.
• One or more proposals of how a gold standard dataset (perfect solution) could be created to enable
submitted results for each proposed method to be evaluated.
The document should have the following sections:
-Abstract(150 words maximum)
– Introduction: An introductory section outlining the background and motivation, citing existing
material which motivates the development of your proposed framework. This section should end
with a very short outline of the structure of the rest of the proposal.
– Literature Review: A section, possibly with subsections, giving more detailed reviews of relevant existing work discussing the current state-of-the-art and limitations of existing research
relevant to your proposed topic of investigation.
– Evaluation Framework and Shared Task Details: A section, possibly with subsections, describing the frramework and details of the task. This should include details of the topics
outlined above: summary of your proposed evaluation framework, details of metrics, dataset
to be used, development of gold standard results, and other details which you might wish to
include. Include citations of other work where you feel appropriate
