Complete a classroom observation reflection using the following guidelines: Actual observation should be NO less than 45 minutes and must be from bell to bell (secondary) or from beginning to end of lesson or block (elementary). The observation must also include a pre-meeting with the teacher to discuss what is being taught and why AND a post observation meeting when the candidate talks with the teacher about what s/he observed. A copy of the lesson plan should also be included.
Reflection must address thoughtful answers to the following questions (FEAPs a.2.e):
What evidence can you find that supports the instructional shifts or math practices? If there was none, what changes can be made to strengthen that support?
How did that students use non-linquistic representations? How did it impact the learning activity? If the lesson did not have non-linguistic representations, what changes could be made to
What the lesson authentic? How do you know? If not, what changes could be made to make it more authentic?
Where did this lesson fall within the unit? What assessment has already been completed and how did the teacher determine the students’ level of understanding? What did s/he do with the results? How could that method be improved?(FEAPs a.5.c)
