Data and Transcription

Use Courier or Courier New font for transcription.
These fonts allow for precise lining up of overlaps as all of
the characters are of equal length. Make sure you assign
speakership as you go by a single letter (A:, B:) or three
letters (Ron:, Sal:).

Transcribe the recording
Specifically, you should transcribe the following features:
Words (5 marks)
‘Non-words’ (2 marks)
Timing (pauses, gaps, overlaps and latches) (4 marks)
Lengthened segments and prominent syllables (2 marks)
Rate and pitch (2 marks)
Intonation boundaries and terminal pitch direction. (3 marks)
Overall layout and consistency (2 marks)
