This discussion forum will take into account cardiorespiratory fitness testing for both maximal and submaximal working units. Both levels of testing are highly appropriate for specific populations, obviously depending on who your future clients may be.
Maximal testing is going to be used for the higher level, higher skilled, but also can be used to detect cardiac issues (i.e. stress testing). Submaximal testing can be used for all individuals, including athletes, because these tests are more for estimating what an individual’s maximal VO2max would be. With that being said, let us get down to the discussion.
Based off of your background in sports, current exercising, or combination of both, explain two cardiorespiratory tests that would be appropriate for YOU. You can use your textbook, the internet, magazine articles, etc. There needs to be an explanation of how the test is conducted and you are more than welcome to attach a YouTube clip of the exercise test to help your explanation of the assessment. Make sure to tell us whether it is a maximal or submaximal test and why it is important to you or others who may have the same training implementation as you. Be specific and as detailed as possible to so others can explain in the correct manner.
